Author Interview

1. What inspired you to become a Multicultural, IR or BWWM Romance writer?

What inspired me to write BWWM and IR was real life. I have always been attracted to Caucasian men, but whenever I saw an interracial couple especially when I am out and about, I would smile. Everyone has the right to love whomever he or she wants to.

2. Besides writing, what are some of your favorite things?

Besides writing, I enjoy shopping and dancing. I am trying to get back into basketball. That was #1 before writing.

3. Name at least two (2) authors that you admire who write Multicultural, IR or BWWM Romance?

Twyla Turner (Damaged Souls Series) and JJ Murray

4. What types or genre of books do you enjoy reading? What are you currently reading?

I enjoy African American literature as well Christian, Contemporary, and Gay and Lesbian fiction. Romance because I mainly write in the romance genre.

5. Are you working on anything new? If so, when can we expect it to be released?

Yes, Loving a Hero, which is also BWWM. It is my first standalone and reader's discretion is advised due to the hero's PTSD. Hopefully, Loving a Hero will be released next month.

6. Do you have any scheduled upcoming events; such as book signings, interviews, etc.?

No, but I do plan on having one soon.

7. Where do you expect to be in your career as an author five (5) years from now?

Still serving my country and writing. Hopefully, I will be an award winning author. Who knows? Maybe Oprah Winfrey wants to add me to her book club.

8. What advice can you give to new authors who’s interested in writing in this genre?

Write what you love. Be original. Also, reading is a key to writing. The road may seem tough, but hang in there. Never give up. Always do your research. Keep writing.

Special message from Amelia to you …

Dear readers, I just want to thank everyone for supporting me. I do plan on releasing my third novel and first standalone, Loving a Hero in August, so everyone please be on the lookout for it.

We are truly living in a time where hate is filling up our atmosphere. My heart is heavy as I see my brothers and sisters being slaughtered for no reason. I may be an author, but a fighter and soldier is what I am as well.

All lives matter. Not just blacks or the police, but whites, Asians, gays, lesbians. I may be a swirler, but each day I remind myself I am a black woman and that I love being black. My parents always tell me never forget where you come from.

Readers, I will leave you with an inspiring message and hopefully you will marinate. Always keep God first, for He shall direct your path. Stand up for what you believe in or you will fall for anything. Even when things are chaotic in this world, never lose your faith.

Love everyone. Hate is a burden. No matter who has done you wrong, always remember to love them even from a distance. Support one another. Stop the beefing. Last but not least. You can go beyond the sky. Remember to stay focus on your goals and dreams. Don't allow anything to distract you. May God continue to bless you all.

Book Excerpt ~ Love Don’t Come Easy 2

“This is the life," Miracle expressed aloud to her niece and great aunt as the three lovely ladies were enjoying a nice day at the spa. It was a beautiful Saturday morning and the sun was shining. Being pampered was Sakitta's main priority, for the fashionista was married and had two sons by her husband. Miracle,, was a single parent of two kids and a divorcee. Diamond was a single mother of three boys and in a fresh relationshsip with Pastor Wayne.
"So, Diamond, how are things beween you an Pastor Wayne?" Sakitta asked like a talk show host.
"Things are going well between Pastor and me. Nigel is even crazy about him," Diamond expressed with a smile.
"That is great! I knew you two were going to get back together," Miracle exclaimed.
"Enough about me. Miracle, who is this mysterious friend you have been talking to lately?" Diamond asked curiously.
"In the words of DeBarge, time will reveal."
"Well, is it someone we know? Does he know the Lord? Girl, who is this brotha?" Sakitta asked curiously.
"Yes. He is someone you two know. He goes to church with us. He is also a single father," Miracle said smiling beautifully.
"How many kids does he have?" Sakitta asked.
"He has a son. I have a son and daughter," Miracle replied.
"Well, I can't wait to meet him,' Diamond said.
"Fool, Miracle said we both know him."
"You two will see him."
After the massages, Miracle, Diamond, and Sakitta decided shopping at the mall, seeing a movie, and eating at a fancy restaurant were next on the girls' day out to do list. Before Sakitta and Diamond began to work at Atlanta Memorial Hospital, the trio would always go out every weekend along with Marc, who was Sakitta's younger brother and single father to five kids, whom he adopted. Miracle worked at Emory Hospital as a registered nurse and mainly for women and children patients.
"Quick question, ladies. Will my husband get upset if I wear this dress?" Sakitta asked holding up a short dress which was strapless on one side.
"Girl, your husband is going to have a heart attack. Put that back!" Miracle ordered like she was Sakitta's mother.
"Men with lustful eyes are going to be looking from behind.. You know you have a figure like Nicki Minaj," Diamond reminded Sakitta.
"I'm going to wear this dress for my husband anyway. He is the only man I should expose myself to."
"Right about that. I am not exposing myself to Wayne anytime soon until he becomes my husband."
"The same with mine. Before I jump the broom again, I just ask and pray to God this one is the one," Miracle declared.
"Well, let's hurry up because I am hungry," Sakitta told her aunts.
"Dang, Sakitta. You are acting like a child," Miracle said back.
"Let's go before the First Lady starts a commotion in here," Diamond suggested.
