About the Author
SylBluePinkStand.jpg
Sylvia Hubbard knew she’d wanted to be a writer of romance long before she knew there were black writers in the world. Weaving stories magically as a summer past time to writing stories to get through the humdrum of school, she was able to create something from nothing.

Today, she has independently published over 40 books, is the founder of Motown Writers Network and The Michigan Literary Network, CEO of HubBooks Literary Services, runs over five blogs on a variety of subjects, host The Michigan Literary Network Radio Show and is a happily divorced mother of three children in Detroit, Michigan.
“I’m no superwoman,” she states with a smile that seems infinite on her lips. “I’m just being an asset in the world instead of a liability.”

Being devious…. Out of the box #plotting | .#Beautiful Journey

I didn’t understand deviousness until I graduated from high school and went out into the real world.

That’s a pretty weird statement coming from me seeing that I grew up around three sisters who all had read the Art of War and used it in and around the household with each other in order to win the war without physically fighting.

I also didn’t learn what mind raped was until I went to college. It’s basically being bullied mentally until you go insane because you really don’t know what’s happening to you.

Even though both experiences in my life were horrific once the discovery of what they were came to light, I have to say I’m glad I learned them in the early ages and on top of that I then learned how to do them.

I’m always like that. When something bad happens to me, I learn from it, not just suffer from it, otherwise what’s the fun?

There in lies plot though.

Being devious to the reader is hard. They can see everything. Once you master deviousness to the reader, you’ve mastered plot. Being able to hide something in plain sight is a skill, in writing in life.

I learned how to be beautifully devious in life. And I found it made people really ugly.

I watch and wait and see people openly deceive and hide who they are to people every day. The lies they tell, the backstabbing they do, the manipulation they achieve. I find it fascinating.

When I was writing Beautiful, I allowed the reader to know there were bad people in Madison's life.

So how could I deceive the reader? By putting evil in plain sight. Yet, as I said before human deviousness is a fascinating thing and I've mastered the art of giving my characters real personalities. In my stories, the characters will always do the unexpected.

I can't wait for you to dive into Beautiful and let me know how many twists and turns you found through the story line. See just how devious humans can be while Madison tries to find her Beautiful.

Take this journey with Essence as she discovers the true essence of herself.

Author E. N. Hardy

Author E. N. Hardy was born and raised in Inkster, Michigan. Writing became a passion for her at a very young age, as an outlet, and as a means to deal with trying circumstances. She loves to write poetry, erotica, and in her own words "emotional fiction." The only thing that matters to her is the way you "feel" after reading her work. She enjoys a career in healthcare education, and does lots of reading in her spare time. Her all-time favorite author is V. C. Andrews, with Frank McCourt being a very close second. In 2012 she began working on her debut novel, I Used To Cry: The Essence of Essence. She currently resides in the Metro Detroit area with her husband and four children.
