Book Blurb
Born only months apart, Merci and Grayce Alexander were as close as sisters could get. With a father who thought the world of them, life was good. Until one day everything changed.
While
Grayce got love and attention, Merci got all the hell, forcing her to leave
home. She never looks back, putting the past behind her until … her sister
shows up over a decade later begging for help, bringing all of the forgotten
past with her. Merci wasn't the least bit prepared for what was about to happen
next.
Merci
realizes, she’s been a part of something much bigger than she'd ever imagined.
Yea, every family has their secrets, hidden truths and ties but Merci had no
idea she’d been born into the family that lies.

Turning into the kitchen…
“Shit! How did you get in
here?”
“It was easy.”
“Have you been here this
entire time?”
“Yes.”
“How? Why? What do you
want?”
“I can see you didn’t take my advice.”
“What advice was that?”
“The note, the doll, the car
seat; don’t you remember?”
“That was you?”
“Of course, who else would
it have been? Oh, let me guess, you have another baby daddy besides my
husband.” She laughs. “I knew you were a whore.”
“It’s time for you to go,” I
say, walking over to disarm the alarm.
“I’m not going anywhere. I
gave you a chance and you didn’t take it.”
“A chance? You think killing
my baby is a chance? What is wrong with you?”
“You!” she screams. “You’re
what’s wrong with me. It’s simple bitches like you who find pleasure in
destroying somebody’s else marriage. Well, you’ve picked the wrong one this
time. Little girl, I’ve spent the last twenty-five years of my life making my
husband into somebody, and if you think I’m going to hand him over to you,
you’re crazier than I am.”
“Look lady, I don’t want
your husband. And for the record, he came to me. Hell, did you remind him that
he was married because obviously he forgot. Wasn’t he the one you took vows
with? If you should be mad at anybody, it’s him.”
“No bitch! You’re to blame.
Had you kept your legs closed, we wouldn’t have this problem. Did you honestly
think I would let you bring my husband’s baby into the world, making me a
laughing stock of this city?”
“He doesn’t even know I’m
pregnant so stop with all the threats. I have no intention on telling him nor
do I want him. So why don’t you leave and we’ll never talk about it again?”
“It’s too late for that. I
gave you a choice, but now it’s time for you to pay. I will not allow you to
have what I worked so hard for.”
“Have you not heard anything
I said? I. DON’T. WANT. YOUR. HUSBAND!” I scream.
“I know, because you won’t
get him. I’ll be damned if you and this bastard child will reap the benefits of
my harvest. No honey, you won’t get the chance.”
“How did you know I was
pregnant anyway? No one knows but--”
“That doesn’t matter
anymore.”
“You’re crazy and it’s time
for you to leave,” I say, turning to open the door while starting to dial 911.
Before I can speak, I feel a
sharp pain in the back of my head. Falling to the floor, she continues to hit
me. I try to curl into a ball to protect my stomach from her kicks but she
continues to deliver blow after blow.
The
last thing I remember is her whispering, “Tell
my husband hello when you meet him in hell.”
