So without further ado, our first featured author comes from Detroit, Michigan. Let's welcome Author Shantee' A. Parks.
Shantee' A. Parks is the Best Selling author of Not Giving Up, Samantha Posey Love Unfolded, Love Reveals and Love Conquers. She's from Detroit, Michigan living in Atlanta, Georgia. She love's to travel. She has been to London and Paris and would love to some day travel to Italy. She's been writing since high school. When she's not taking care of her family she is reading and writing "STEAMY HOT" romance stories.
A happily ever after (HEA) is always important to her. She needs it as much as her readers do. Sometimes she can leave a cliff hanger but she always gives an HEA at the end of either a standalone or series!
Author Interview
1. What inspired you to become a Multicultural, IR or BWWM Romance writer?
I imagined what love would look like between a black woman and white man. I wanted my characters to fight to be together. There's always something Taboo about being in a interracial relationship. I like defying the odds.
2. Besides writing, what are some of your favorite things?
I love to travel, watch action movies and relax with my kids.
3. Name at least two (2) authors that you admire who write Multicultural, IR or BWWM Romance?
I admire DJ Parker, S.K. Lessly and Theresa Hodge.
4. What types or genre of books do you enjoy reading? What are you currently reading?
I love reading romance. I'm reading Ballers by Blue Saffire.
5. Are you working on anything new? If so, when can we expect it to be released?
The Set Dilemma is scheduled to be released on September 9, 2016.
6. Do you have any scheduled upcoming events; such as book signings, interviews, etc.?
No
7. Where do you expect to be in your career as an author five (5) years from now?
My publishing company will be successful. I won't have to work a 9 to 5 so I can focus on running my company and writing books!
8. What advice can you give to new authors who’s interested in writing in this genre?
Don't let people discourage you because they will try. Observe first, read other author books in your genre, watch the most successful author in your genre learn from them on how to be successful. Whatever you do Keep writing!!
